Privacy Policy

Background

This document is an electronic record in terms of (i) the Information Technology Act, 2000; (ii) the rules framed thereunder as applicable; and (iii) the amended provisions pertaining to electronic records in various statutes as amended by the Information Technology Act, 2000. This electronic record is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures.

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is published in accordance with: (i) Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000; (ii) Regulation 4 of the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Information) Rules, 2011 (“SPI Rules”); and (iii) Regulation 3(1) of the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011, which require publishing a privacy policy applicable to the access or  usage of Caree.in, the mobile application available across platforms including but not limited to Android and iOS (“App”). This Privacy Policy covers:

(i) the type of information collected from customers through the App, including sensitive personal data or information;

(ii) the purpose, means, and modes of usage of such information; and

(iii) how and to whom such information may be disclosed.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, wherever the context so requires, “You”, “Your”, or “User” shall mean any natural or legal person who uses the App to avail services offered by Caree (“Services”). The terms “We”, “Us”, and “Our” shall mean Caree. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Notice of significant changes will be provided through the App or other reasonable means, so you may review the updates before continuing to use our Services. Any modifications become effective immediately upon posting to the App, and your continued use of the App and/or Services constitutes your agreement to such modifications. If you do not agree to any changes, you may close your account. You agree to periodically review the current version of this Privacy Policy as posted on the App.

Type of Information Collected

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, “personal information,” as defined under Section 2(i) of the SPI Rules, means any information that relates to a natural person which, either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available with a body corporate, is capable of identifying such person. “Sensitive personal information,” as defined under Section 3 of the SPI Rules, includes information relating to:

  • Passwords
  • Financial information (such as bank account, credit/debit card, or other payment instrument details)
  • Physical, physiological, and mental health condition
  • Sexual orientation
  • Medical records and history
  • Biometric information
  • Any detail relating to the above clauses provided to a body corporate for providing service
  • Any of the information received under the above clauses by a body corporate for processing, stored, or processed under lawful contract or otherwise

We require customers who avail our Services through the App to provide us with the following information:

  • Name of the customer
  • Registered Account Information (User ID, Password, Security Question)
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Address
  • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences, and interests
  • Details related to care services, such as caregiver preferences, health-related needs, and service location

How the Collected Information Will Be Used

The information collected under Clause 2 will be used in the following manner:

  • Registered User Name: To personalize the Services availed through the App and customize all communications sent by Caree.
  • Email Address: To communicate:
    o Notifications from Caree;
    o Offers, promotions, and service updates;
    o Feedback requests regarding our services;
    o Communication related to care coordination or support.
  • Phone Number: To contact users regarding service confirmations, changes, or emergencies related to elderly care services.
  • Address: To facilitate service delivery at the user’s or recipient’s location and to assign caregivers or service providers as required.
  • Health and Care Preferences: To tailor the services according to the specific needs of the elderly user.


We may also use your information to:

  • Improve the quality and safety of our Services.
  • Communicate new offerings, updates, or relevant information.
  • Verify your identity where required for safety or compliance purposes.

 

We may request additional documentation to verify your identity or other data. Failure to provide such information may result in refusal or termination of Services.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose certain information to third parties solely to help diagnose technical issues, administer the App, and improve our Services.

We may also disclose personal information as required by law, or when we believe, in our sole discretion, that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, ensure  the safety of users, or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on Caree.

Cookies

The App uses temporary cookies—files stored by your browser when visiting the App—to store certain information that is not sensitive personal information. The data collected via cookies helps us in technical administration, research, and improving the quality of our Services.

We may use third-party cookies to track visitor behavior and improve service quality. However, these cookies do not store personal information and are not shared with third parties.

Users are encouraged to clear cookies periodically using their browser settings.

Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to external websites or services for user convenience. These third party sites are not controlled by Caree, and their privacy practices may differ. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of such linked sites. Caree is not responsible for the content, practices, or information handling of third-party websites.

Security Procedures

Caree has implemented industry-standard security policies, rules, and technical measures as required under Section 8 of the SPI Rules to protect all personal and sensitive data under our control from unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, modification, or destruction.

Retention of Information

We retain personal information for as long as you are engaged with our Services and for a reasonable time thereafter. Upon request, and after verifying your identity, we will provide a copy of your personal data retained with us.

Grievances

If you have any grievances regarding the use of your personal information or other privacy concerns, you may contact our Grievance Officer, whose details are provided in the Terms of Use. The officer will address your grievance within 30 (thirty) days of receipt.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Courts in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or in connection with this Privacy Policy.
